You are being lied to. By Enfamil, quite possibly a brand that you trust.
Enfamil is currently running a lot of television spots in which they claim the following: “Our new Triple Health Guard is found only in Enfamil Premium. The result of years of leading edge research, new Enfamil Premium is clinically proven to promote growth, improve* brain and eye development, and improve* respiratory and immune system outcomes.”
Don’t believe it for a minute. The National Advertising Division (NAD) issued this statement insisting that Enfamil should either change or stop using their advertisement. NAD concluded that Enfamil’s claim was not supported by evidence.
It also seems that a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Enfamil’s maker Mead Johnson for making the assertion that theirs is the only formula that offers such benefits when, in actuality, theirs is no different from that of generics.
As moms, as women, and as consumers, we have the power to make our voices heard. Retweet it, put it on Facebook, blog about it… just get it out there.
