Review and Giveaway – Steward Bags

This giveaway is closed.

Are you looking for ways to reduce, reuse, recycle? Are you looking for ways to be more “green”? What if I told you there is a way to cut back – or even stop using – the produce bags at the grocery? What if I told you that there is such a thing as 100% organic reusable produce bags? It’s true – you need look no further than Steward Bags out of Canada.

These bags are fantastic and they squish up and fit rather easily into your purse or diaper bag until you get to the grocery to use them. They also feel very strong and durable, not at all flimsy. I can’t wait ’til our next grocery trip to use them some more!!

Additional info that’s great to know: They are made in India, fair trade/fair labour, machine washable (gentle cycle on cold). Also, they give back by donating 5% to environmental projects.

One lucky reader will win a set of five produce bags that Steward Bags so generously supplied.

  6. I follow on GFC and like that you don't have to open the bags to see what's in them – you can see through them!hrddiana556@gmail.com

  7. According to a blurb on the website, we use a plastic bag about 12-20 mins before disposing of it. I had never thought in those terms, but that is true–just get the item home, then throw away the bag that takes SO many years to degrade!bethelderton59 at gmail dot com

  8. I'm following you via GFC. I learned that it takes a loooooong time for a bag to decompose (+4 months, even in a composter!)lambaround at gmail dot com

  9. I learned that the family had bit of a "squabble" on the bag design: "One of us insisted on tying a knot in the top of the bag so the produce didn't roll out. The other, however, argued that knotting the top of the bag makes it difficult to re-open and impossible to reuse. Either way these bags ended up piling up in our garbage and utimately in the local landfill. "….but they worked it out!Karen Dorriskpintn/at/hotmail/dot/com

  10. Follow you through GFC (katie, kmogilevski). Learned that Stewart Bags won the Enterpreneurs of the Year for 2010.allnaturalkatie at gmail dot com
